A few more pictures
This is the Swiata Katarcyni church just outside our complex, built as the garrison church for the Prussian troops stationed in what is now our school. It was built around 1780, is very big, and quite lovely inside. It has a large, but aging, congregation. We walk past it on our way to the rest of Torun.
Every day at noon they play a kind of trumpet tune from its bell-tower, and a different one at 9 pm. We'd made up verse that goes along with the tune, as we were heading for a beer, that had something to do with having a beer, only to find out the tune they're playing is about Mary, Queen of Poland, so we consider ourselves lucky to be still alive.
